Tech Trep Academy Fuels Creative Minds

In the past few years, it has been incredible to see the way children’s education has evolved, and how tech has become so integrated into what and how kids learn. Technology in the classroom is becoming more ubiquitous, and kids are grasping mature concepts like coding and programming from a very early age. There are so many amazing resources out there for young kids, especially one like Tech Trep Academy, that offers education, immersion and engagement at the same time.

Tech Trep (short for enTREPreneur) is an interactive, online learning academy for kids ages 8-14 who are future engineers, designers, mixers, artists, video game developers, tech gurus and so much more. This online academy launched with 11 courses and covers a wide range of interests, like Minecraft Modding, 3D Design and Animation, Video Game Programming, Digital Media and even a class on “EnTREPreneurship” for kids 8 and up. Perfect for tripling sales with next year’s lemonade stand.

Tech Trep fuels creative minds

Each class lasts approximately 15-20 weeks, and in addition to the online instruction and engaging exercises, each student is assigned an online tech mentor (yes, a real person!) to create a customized curriculum to suit the needs of the student.

And what’s very helpful is that students can set their own pace and choose to stay on a particular project to practice their newfound skills, or choose to progress as quickly as their time allows. Even though each class offers general guidelines of 15-20 weeks, students that sign up have access to course materials and their mentor for a full year, giving students plenty of flexibility. Everything is conducted online and aside from any project extras needed for certain courses, all kids need is a computer and Internet access.

Each course is about $350, and when you consider that the price comes with year-long access, it amounts to less than a dollar a day. A small fraction compared to the collective costs of sports equipment, music lessons and the slew of extracurricular activities on the schedule. Whether it’s dreams of becoming the next Bill Gates or creating the next Angry Birds, everything is worth nourishing the creative and entrepreneurial interests of your child. Not to mention, having boasting rights as a bona fide video game developer at the age of 10.

Thanks to Tech Trep for sponsoring this post. And to encourage Top Tech Mom readers to give the gift of learning this holiday season, Tech Trep is offering HALF OFF all course registrations for a limited time only (Wednesday, Nov. 25th – Monday, November 30th until midnight PST).
